About our Bangalore team
Lowe’s Innovation Labs, the disruptive technology hub for Lowe's Companies, Inc., a U.S.-based FORTUNE 50 home improvement company, expanded its presence to Bangalore, India in 2015.
Bangalore is globally recognized for its vibrant technology and startup ecosystem. As an emerging international center for innovation, the city is a natural launching point for Lowe’s Innovation Labs as we further develop our network of uncommon partnerships.
From our facility in the heart of downtown Bangalore, Lowe's Innovation Labs is connecting with India's tech leaders and innovators to collaborate and develop new capabilities and develop proofs of concept that are ultimately designed to be introduced in the U.S. market.
Our vision is to discover new frontiers and seed new platforms, while fostering an environment of innovation and furthering our commitment to help people love where they live.
Our first goal in Bangalore was to engage India’s start-up ecosystem to rapidly identify opportunities, develop proofs of concept and deploy new technologies in the U.S. market.
After studying the approach – and limitations – of typical startup accelerator programs, we developed our Collider program. This initiative works as a mechanism for our team to rapidly interact with Bangalore's start-up ecosystem through an ongoing collision of narrative-infused concepts and projects.
Unlike a traditional accelerator, LIL’s Collider is designed to help both startups and Lowe’s derive greater value by quickly identifying opportunities for uncommon partnerships. This program is punctuated by an ongoing collision of ideas, personalities, and rapid immersion in LIL’s future narratives – our approach to building seemingly impossible futures alongside our partners.
Selected startups benefit from access to Lowe’s senior management and targeted guidance on developing real-world solutions: workshops and closed group networking with experienced mentors and industry leaders; and access to a wide investor and corporate network through Lowe’s partners.
Collider is currently run out of the LIL-Bangalore facility, located in the heart of downtown Bangalore’s thriving start-up ecosystem.
