You’ve probably met them, but you may not remember. I’m talking about the entrepreneurs who can build seemingly impossible solutions to really hard problems, but are really bad storytellers.
At the same time, the innovation community often feels like an echo chamber, where the same audience hears the same message over and over. In order to solve some of the world’s biggest challenges, the audience must grow, and be inspired to act.
This summer, I had the honor of serving as a mentor for Unreasonable Goals, helping entrepreneurs who are working on solutions that could help achieve the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. While I was there, I lamented, there has to be a better way to tell these amazing stories – and what better way to capture the attention of a much bigger audience than through the modern poets of our day, hip-hop artists!
